weekend

We balanced the weekend nicely with a little bit of partying here and a bit of relaxing there. After a lazy Friday night spent watching lots of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' we had a slightly more productive Saturday. To my delight my car was washed (and waxed!) by a very special someone whilst I busied myself indoors (thanks to the winter-like weather of Saturday). Saturday night we scooted off to a good friend's wedding for lots of dancing and merriment. We ended the night with more good friends downtown.

Sunday, being less wintry than Saturday, allowed us to ride bikes all over our beloved city. We hit our usual cafe for a late breakfast, rode through Balboa Park visiting the international houses and the zoo. A lazy evening allowed me to finish my book (loved it) and start a new book I've been itching to read. I'll let you know how it goes.

Happy Tuesday everyone.

weekend

We had one of those great, eventful weekends that made it okay for us to do absolutely nothing on Sunday. Friday we went downtown for the thai food I've been craving all week and to stroll about town.

Saturday we got up early and Francis finally let me take him to the Little Italy farmer's market. After raspberry lemonades, croissants, and trying to rationalize my way out of the most decadent dessert ever, we drove up to Swami's park to visit friends and their new babe. We visited, napped on the beach a bit, then headed back down to take a breather before heading downtown a second night in a row for beers with friends.

And it was after some beers, a 3am trip to the airport, and Sunday morning brunch with the girls that we did absolutely nothing. By nothing I mean I sprawled on the sofa for hours covering lots of ground in my new book.

Bits from my week

El Camino with friends.

When I'm feeling slightly more decadent than my everyday pb + j, I make this sandwich for lunch. Tomato, 1/2 and avocado, mayo + mustard (or balsamic + mayo in very decadent cases).

Flourishing basil.

My all-day-every-day snack of sunflower seeds. Roasted and salted of course.

Tons of white tulips. I've been watching them open all week.

Not pictured:

-Me sitting with a fan six inches from my face.

-Me walking into a spider web every morning on my way into work.

-Me accidentally slicing a chunk of my thumb off with an xacto knife (fresh blade) while building a model at work.

-Francis finding me on the computer, in the dark, at one in the morning laughing at this.

-A bajillion flies in our house as a result of leaving the doors open.

weekend

We did a lot of eating this weekend. Friday we went to a small farmers market and snagged tons of free produce, courtesy of a friend who works for an organic farm. That evening we saw Salt (don't judge, we had movie passes). It was ok. Saturday F and I got our hair done like a couple of girls. We got tons of necessary consolidating and organizing done in our house. Sunday we got back into our old routine of a bike ride to the cafe in the morning, followed by more organizing.

{free produce!}
