Honeymoon in Mallorca, Part III

We greatly expanded our radius of island exploration when we rented a scooter. Francis and his fancy class M license drove us (safely) through coastal towns, hillside villages, and idyllic countryside.

Our visit to Capdepera was a highlight and fulfilled our commitment to do something educational. It's a beautiful historic city, inland a bit from the coastal town of Arta. In 1300 the king of Sicily ordered the construction of a fortified village on a hilltop to protect the residents from pirates. Yes, pirates. The ruins remain to be explored for a mere 4 euros. The panoramic views alone were worth it.

Mallorca, we miss you. And we will see you again.
