Vancouver Part II

I figured it was about time I wrapped up our Vancouver/Seattle vacation from SEPTEMBER...terribly overdue, I know. So....

On our second day in Vancouver we took the Skytrain downtown (Vancouver has a stellar public transit system). En route, we stopped for a stroll through Olympic Village (though it was deserted when we were there). We continued via Skytrain downtown for an afternoon of wandering. We walked all through downtown, explored the convention center(s), grabbed some lunch, more wandering, sought refuge from a downpour at Starbucks (accompanied by tea and gin rummy), then met up with a friend of F's (a VC native) for a whirlwind city tour and an amazing dinner at Naam - probably the most amazing vegetarian restaurant in the world.

Weekend

I went up north this weekend, sans Francis, to keep an eye on the chillun' (aka my younger sisters) whilst my parents flew off to Boulder, CO for a weekend of celebration*. We decorated the family Christmas tree all ghetto fabulous-like, I got to see more of an old friend, and we each endured some rainy dog walks. We's kin. (You can thank the torrential rains for the lack of photos).

The weekend a sister came...

Last weekend (last last weekend) my sister finally came to San Diego with a friend for a visit, in celebration of her 18th birthday. We walked through Little Italy, we rode bikes to the zoo, she got her hair did, we had a bonfire, we had an impromptu Kristin Wiig skit marathon, and I changed their lives forever with Extraordinary Desserts. It was awesome. Upon their departure, F and I took advantage of the summer-like Sunday and played beach frisbee on Coronado. Fin.

Literature

I've been rereading some old lit favorites from back in high school and am appreciating them on a completely different level.

If you haven't read any of these, I highly recommend them.
