F and I went to Palm Desert last weekend; thanks to Priceline we got a great deal at this hotel. We headed out Friday morning, drove straight to the base of San Jacinto. We bought tram tickets, wiggled into our snow clothes and rode up 8,000 feet.

a colony (is that right?) of lady bugsOnce atop San Jacinto (which had an amazing 5 feet of snow on it) we grabbed a snack and set out to stomp around in the snow until our toes froze.
After taking the tram down we headed to the hotel for some relaxation and a good dinner. We ate at a delish Italian restaurant where we had the most amazing gnochi ever.

relief candle at dinnerSunday we hit up the spa, pool, soaked up some sun, watched a bit of 'Goodfellas' in HD and played mini golf on the hotel grounds.

F trapped under T-rexAfter sadly leaving the outlets empty handed, we waved goodbye to the desert and its snowy mountains. But we'll be back.
