Seattle, Part III

On our last day in the Pacific Northwest we spent our final hours on the Seattle University campus. Our main objective: to explore the beautiful and architecturally significant St. Ignatius chapel, designed by Steven Holl. A wedding was taking place when we arrived, so we meandered a bit (we lucked out that it wasn't a full Catholic ceremony) and yes, spied a bit on the wedding, before taking our self-guided tour.

I highly recommend making a special trip to see this church if you ever find yourself in the Seattle area. St. Ignatius is beautiful and moving. I don't even know where to begin describing the use of light and texture, scale...just go see for yourself. It won't disappoint.
